Virus/Malware Do's and Don'ts
Computer viruses and malicious software or "malware"
for short have become more than just a nuisance to society. Hackers
that create and distribute these files have turned this into a
multi-billion dollar industry by stealing unwary victims identities,
credit card numbers, personal banking information and the list goes on.
If you find yourself faced with a pop-up window asking you to activate
or purchase an Anti-Virus program that you know you have not installed
on your computer...DON'T DO IT! The best thing to do is press the following combination of keys: "ALT" and "F4"
located on the top row of your keyboard. This will close out the window
and hopefully allow you to turn your computer off in the normal fashion
using the Start Button.
Never
leave your PC or laptop run for any period of time after an infection.
The longer it runs, the greater chance of destroying your precious data
or copying your personal information and passwords and transmitting them
over the internet to the individual that released the virus onto the
Internet.

virus, trojan, malware, spy-ware, worm or other form of infection from
